An Exhibition, "Afghanistan, 2010 and 2012" Andrew Nelles, Chicago Photojournalist

Mr. Nelles worked as an embedded photojournalist with the US Army in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2012.
He is currently exhibiting 25 of his dramatic  photographs at the Niles Public Library, 6960 W. Oakton St. in the 3rd Floor Franklin Gallery.

Mr. Nelles will discuss his career and overseas work on Sunday, February 16, at 2pm at the library.

His international work also includes photographing projects in Turkish Kurdistan and Iraq. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Andrew has previously worked on the photo staff of The Chicago Sun-Times and as an intern for the Bucks County Courier-Times in Pennsylvania.

His has received numerous awards, including 2012 Sports Photojournalist of the Year from the Illinois Press Photographers Association, and other recognition from the National Press Photographers Association, and the Illinois College Press Association.
